Dhaka: A fire broke out at the second floor of the new building of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning . Fire service duty officer Ataur Rahman said that hospital authority was able to douse the blaze before three firefighting units rushed to the scene.
DMCH deputy director Khaja Abdul Gafur said that the fire erupted around 11:50 am on the plastic roof of a physical medicine department room in the second floor while someone allegedly threw a blazing cigarette on it.
However, no casualties were reported in the incident, he added.
